Assuming you are not a vegetarian and if you are you will eat fish then there are 3 places well worth a visit.





1 Manhattan Oyster Bar not sure of the address. dress smart take the plastic and don't buy wine by the bottle. We saw the Clintons there last visit.





2 The Oyster bar in grand central station is very good informal great seafood.





3 Ruth's Chris Steak house 148 west 51st street great steak not cheap but a real pleasure with good service and nice surroundings. In our opinion the best steak chain in the US





If you are on a budget then you can eat cheaply and well at any of the deli restaurants throughout the city but avoid any located in the big stores the quality is less reliable.


Have a great time in a wonderful city.
Yes try Bubba gumps they have really good food and a fun atmosphere
well there are so many but it your looking for..

japanese: American


cafe: Cafe Lalo (where they filmed ';you've got mail';)


French: French roast

Fleur de Sel (i think for lunch it is $24?)





Other than that, try Momofuku Ramen, Momofuku Ssam Bar.


And hit up Doughnut Plant also ;)
If you want a great curry in a fab restaurant at reasonable prices, try the Jewel of India - 15 W44th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues).





My wife and I are going to NY from the UK in the New Year (for the 3rd time) and will be having a curry there while we are in New York.





Highly recommended.
