Have you ever faced this situation? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?

I have ever worked at the places or gone to college that you are the only minorities present at the organization.

For example:

You are only white person in the school; or

You are only Asian person in the college; or

You are only black person in the organization.

How to you deal with this?Have you ever faced this situation? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
Consider yourself special. Thanks for the points.Have you ever faced this situation? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
im sure there are lots of people who have felt like you are feeling or dealing with, not necessarily as narrow down as in a school, but think of the minorites first entering another country as a whole??

They're response would to be to try to adapt to the other culture, i,e. not show ignorance, try talking/learning about them, whilst also holding their own values and /or beliefs at the same time.
i am a judge, timekeeper, and referee for amatuer boxing, and sometimes i go into the inner cities and find i am the only white guy there. everyone there is there for the same reason, the boxing matches so i do what i am supposed to do and enjoy the day (or night) and don't much pay a lot of attention to color. you will find that it is the biggots that worry about that kind of stuff and they come in all colors and genders.
Hope, the only advise I would give you would be this.....

Have an open mind, be yourself! People are going to like you or dislike you no matter what situation you find yourself in. Don't pretend to be someone you are not. Be pleasant and take into consideration how your actions will affect others. And for heavens sake!!!!!! DON';T try to take on the personalities of those around you because it not only can insult but looks darn silly. I have been around for many years and have worked or gone to school being the only white. By being true to myself, I have found it much easier to make friends that I still have to this day.
No not really, I've always surround myself with minorities. In my area it's actually rare that a white person is around. There's always Asians, Blacks, Latinos or Indians around.
Be yourself, but also try and adapt to your environment. Try not to make your race an issue, if someone else does you should challenge them.
You just suck it up. Chances are no one is looking at your skin color if you're doing what you are supposed to be doing.
It's too bad that we can't look and see how many human beings are at these places without taking note of race creed or color. Maybe one day it will be that way.
When I was at school you never saw a Muslim but now My children are at school they are nearly the only white children in the whole school. I live in London UK. I live with it because I have too and as a Jew who am I to be racist
Well - if this is an issue for yourself it will be for others. Dont let it get you down - be proud to be different - what have you got to be ashamed about? Not one of us on this planet is like another...even identical twins! Remember this is 2008 - people who still have race/religion isues etc. are very clearly ignorant and dont waste your time on them - dont even waste a though on it. Hold your head high and be grateful that you are more intelligent and broadminded. Good luck
Focusing on color is not good. When you can walk through life and be color blind it will open up new avenues of learning. Don't ignore social problems just don't let it rule your thought process.
